Digital Learning Days - January 2021
Below are recordings of sessions that are exclusive to our Digital Learning Days programming on January 13 – 15, 2021. We invite you to visit the December archive for more recordings.
Building Community in Digital Spaces
In this session, we will review student feedback from Fall 2020 related to their experiences with community in remote learning, explore key themes related to building community in the literature and discuss tools and techniques that faculty can use to foster community in Spring 2021.
Experiential Learning - Moving Beyond the Screen
This session offers some strategies to get your students out from behind their screens and (safely) into their lived environments. We show examples of how other faculty have designed activities that connect course content to the students’ lived environments and lives.
Faculty Self-Care
In this session, we share teaching strategies that help make your classes more manageable as well as more general self-care strategies. We also leave space for participants to share their own strategies with the group. Come and take some time for yourself during this session.
Reducing Zoom Fatigue
In this workshop, we will explore ways to reduce fatigue during a live class, but also ways to restructure class time with asynchronous tools to modulate the semester: balancing both synchronous and asynchronous work, building in low-activity weeks, and providing relief for both faculty and students.
